The Greek beaches of Voutomi and Fteri are among the 50 best beaches in the world by Banana Boat, a well-known sunscreen company with 40 years of experience.

The company recently unveiled its list of the world’s 50 best beaches, compiled based on votes from Beach Ambassadors, as well as input from some of the world’s most experienced travel agents and journalists.

“Our directory will help inspire travelers to get off the beaten track and enjoy the world’s most spectacular and relaxing beaches,” said Tine Holst, co-founder of The World’s 50 Best Beaches.

The beaches were ranked according to eight important criteria: unique features, wild nature, untouched, melodies of nature, easy access to the water, often calm waters, not too crowded and frequency of idyllic conditions.

Voutumi beach

Nestled at the foot of a verdant hill, Voutumi Beach in Antipaxos was ranked as the 5th best beach in the world for its deep blue waters and exquisite mix of pebbles and fine white sand.

“This spectacular, secluded beach on the island of Antipaxos is mainly accessible by boat, keeping it quiet and unspoilt compared to more accessible Greek beaches,” Beach Ambassadors reports.

Fteri Beach

Fteri beach in Kefalonia secured the 29th place. Accessible primarily by boat or via a steep trail hike, Banana Boat’s Beach Ambassadors have praised Fern’s isolation for its “unspoiled and peaceful atmosphere,” setting it apart from more touristy destinations.

In the list of the best beaches in Europe, Voutumi beach secured the 2nd place, while Fteri beach claimed the 7th place.
