Sad News: Basketball Player Oscar Cabrera Passes Away
SANTO DOMINGO – Oscar Cabrera Adames, a talented basketball player, tragically passed away on Thursday due to a heart attack while undergoing a stress test at a health center in Santo Domingo Este.
Oscar, who was only 28 years old at the time of his death, was the nephew of the legendary Dominican sportsman, Hugo Cabrera. Witnesses reported that he lost consciousness and did not wake up during the necessary medical procedure to return to the game.
In 2021, Oscar played in the EBA League of Spain, representing Cantbasket. He also played for Mauricio Báez and San Lázaro in the TBS Distrito Nacional, as well as for Leones SD and Huracanes Puerto Plata in the LNB.
Controversy Surrounding Vaccines
Following the news of Oscar’s untimely demise, some old posts by the athlete resurfaced, in which he attributed the cardiovascular issues he experienced to the Covid-19 vaccines.
“I developed Myocarditis after receiving the damn vaccine. (I received 2 doses of Pfizer) And I knew it! Many people warned me. But guess what? It was mandatory, or else I couldn’t continue my career as an international professional athlete playing in Spain. I had no pre-existing health conditions, no hereditary factors, no asthma, NOTHING! Suddenly, I collapsed on the court during a match and almost lost my life. I am still recovering, and I have undergone 11 different cardiology tests, but they found nothing. No cholesterol, no fat, nothing! I have 7% body fat and 93% muscle. When I received the diagnosis, they told me I won’t be able to play for at least 5 months until my heart recovers, and they can’t provide me with any medication,” wrote the player in a social media post.
