MADRID (Portaltic/EP) – TikTok is developing a new functionality that will allow users of the platform to clone voices from reading text using Artificial Intelligence (AI), which takes only 10 seconds.
The platform has been working on AI-based tools for months, which it plans, for example, to introduce with the aim of generating new songs. AI Song, an option it began testing earlier this year.
Recently, Google application analyst AsembleDebug found references to the implementation of AI for another purpose. More specifically, to generate voice from text commands and to use it in TikTok videos, as he mentioned in TheSpAndroid.
This feature, called ‘Create your voice with AI’ and advertised alongside a repository called ‘TikTok Voice Library’, allows users to clone their voice “in just 10 seconds.” The result will initially be private, although users will be able to share it with others if they wish.
This option, which is currently in development, introduces a recording interface with a dedicated button, in which users will be asked to read aloud a fragment of text on the screen.
Once this sample is collected, TikTok will be able to make it available to other people through the service’s voice library. Users who wish to do so can also delete these voice records from the library at any time.
