This will be the programming for the 57th Vallenato Festival

The Vallenata Legend Festival Foundation delivers the official programming that will take place before and during the 57th Vallenata Legend Festival in tribute to Iván Villazón Aponte, ‘La Voz Tenor del Vallenato, which will take place from April 30 to May 4, 2024.

The activities begin on Saturday, April 27 with the Willys Parranderos Jeep parade starting at 3:00 in the afternoon. For Sunday, April 28, the Children’s Painting contest from 8:30 in the morning: ‘Children paint the Vallenata Legend Festival’. From 3:00 in the afternoon the Children’s and Youth Piloneras parade will take place.

On Monday, April 29, at 8:00 in the morning, the first rounds of the Children’s Accordion, Minor Accordion, Youth Accordion and Amateur Accordion competitions begin.

On Tuesday, April 30, the aforementioned contests continue and the Major Accordion Competition begins at 8:00 in the morning. At 4:00 in the afternoon the Piloneras Mayores parade begins. At that same time the miracle of the Vallenata Legend will be staged in Alfonso López Square. Finally, at six in the afternoon the inauguration of the 57th Vallenato Legend Festival will take place, in tribute to Iván Villazón Aponte, ‘The Tenor Voice of Vallenato’.

On Wednesday, May 1st, the various contests scheduled continue at eight in the morning and the Professional Accordion begins; then Piqueria Infantil (10:00 AM) and Piqueria Mayor (2:00 PM).

The programming for Thursday, May 2, starting at 8:00 in the morning, establishes the semifinal of the Children’s Accordion, Minor Accordion, Youth Accordion and Amateur Accordion competitions. Second round of Acordeonera Mayor, first round of Canción Vallenata Inédita and second round of Piqueria Mayor (10:00 AM). Also, the first round of Professional Accordion starting at (11:00 AM).

Starting at 2:00 PM there will be the finals of the Children’s Accordion, Minor Accordion, Youth Accordion, and Children’s Piqueria competitions. At 8:00 PM the end of the Amateur Accordion contest.

For Friday, May 3 (8:00 AM), the semifinal of the Acordeonera Mayor, Piqueria Mayor competitions follows; second round Professional Accordion (11:00 AM) and Unpublished Vallenata Song – 8:00 AM

The finals of the Acordeonera Mayor and Piqueria mayor competitions are scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

Finally, on Saturday, May 4, from 8:00 in the morning, the semifinals of the Professional Accordion and Unpublished Vallenata Song competitions will take place. At 8:00 pm, there will be the finals of the aforementioned contests.

The Vallenata Legend Festival Foundation will announce well in advance the stages where the various accordion, piqueria, unpublished Vallenata song, piloneras, children’s painting, piloneras parades will take place; tour of the Willys Parranderos Jeep parade, the opening ceremony and the conversation called ‘Happy Souls’, among other activities.

MUSICAL SHOWS

The musical shows will take place on May 2, 3 and 4, 2024, in the most suitable and comfortable setting in Valledupar, the Parque de la Leyenda Vallenata ‘Consuelo Araujonoguera’.

The president of the Vallenata Legend Festival Foundation, Rodolfo Molina Araújo, noted. “This program contains the various activities that will be carried out to give the greatest importance to the 57th Vallenata Legend Festival in tribute to the singer Iván Villazón. “I extend the invitation to everyone to join this party, mainly to the contestants who are the raw material and continue to meet the objective set since 1968.”
