In the first half of 2023, about 59 million dollars were spent on operating costs for “Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan” (BTC), and 18 million dollars were spent on capital costs.
Publika.az Referring to the final report of BP for the first half of the current year, it is reported that from the commissioning of the 1,768-kilometer long BTC pipeline in June 2006 to the end of the second quarter of 2023, a total of more than 546 million tons (4.1 billion barrels) of crude oil was transported and loaded on 5402 tankers in Ceyhan and sent to world markets. BTC’s achievement of a total of 4 billion barrels of oil exports was celebrated on January 18, 2023 as a remarkable success.
During the first six months, approximately 15 million tons (about 114 million barrels) of crude oil and condensate exported through BTC were loaded onto 158 tankers at the Ceyhan terminal and shipped.
At present, the BTC pipeline mainly carries “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” oil and “Shah Deniz” condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other regional Caspian crude oil and condensate volumes (Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan) are transported through BTC.
