A woman was captured in the case of the baby who was rescued by agents from inside a septic tank, in Izalco, Sonsonate.
So far, the National Civil Police (PNC) has not provided more information about the capture or the relationship of the woman in the baby case, that is, whether she is the mother or not. Two other people are being held for investigation.
However, the National Council for Early Childhood, Children and Adolescence (CONAPINA) reported that they have taken steps to care for the minor.
As detailed by the institution, the protection board of that department has responded to the incident and was providing the required assistance.
The Grow Together Law empowers the institution to act in cases of violation of minors’ rights, and make the necessary legal decisions.

The Rural Police in Izalco yesterday took charge of rescuing the newborn who was in a septic tank. The authorities received the alert from a family who informed the Police after hearing the crying of a newborn.
The authorities proceeded to attend to the case, the victim was located and rescued alive, he was later transferred to the Jorge Mazzini National Hospital, in the departmental capital of Sonsonate.
In recent weeks in different areas of El Salvador, two newborns and an 8-month-old baby have been murdered. The Police have already arrested one of the accused and are investigating the other cases that have shocked the Salvadoran population.
One of the most recent cases was reported on Monday, April 8 and the victim is an 8-month-old baby who died due to various injuries he received. The baby was transferred from Usulután to the Benjamín Bloom Children’s Hospital, San Salvador where he died.
