The National Civil Police (PNC) reported that it is investigating the homicide of a newborn who was found in the bathrooms of a shopping center in Soyapango.

“Our Investigation teams are already working to solve the case,” the Police warned.

On April 14, the Corporation processed a homicide scene in which the victim was a newborn who was thrown in a bag into a ditch in Quezaltepeque, La Libertad.

“We are guarding the scene, while investigative police work to find the person responsible,” the PNC reported.

The previous cases are in addition to the two newborns and an 8-month-old baby who were murdered in recent weeks in different areas of El Salvador. The National Civil Police (PNC) has already arrested one of the accused and is investigating the other cases that have shocked the Salvadoran population.

One of the events was reported on Monday, April 8 and the victim is an 8-month-old baby who died due to various injuries he received. The baby was transferred from Usulután to the Benjamín Bloom Children’s Hospital, San Salvador where he died.

“Our Investigations and Intelligence agents are already working to solve the crime,” the Corporation wrote on the X network at that time.

On April 3, the PNC received a complaint, after which they searched a home in which they found a homicide scene in Monte San Juan, Cuscatlán.

In that case, it emerged that a woman gave birth and threw the newborn into a septic tank on March 30. The newborn’s body was found four days after being murdered.

Another case that caused outrage on a national scale was the one that occurred on March 30, where the Police arrested 24-year-old Ada Estefani Mata in the Veranda residential complex, Santa Tecla, La Libertad.

The police report details that Mata gave birth to a child, suffocated him and then mutilated him with a knife. She then threw body parts down sewage pipes.

After an intense search that led to the closure of the residential complex, police officers found the newborn’s leg.

After the discovery, they carried out a house-to-house operation and on March 31 they found more remains of the body.

Regarding this case, the Second Peace Court of Santa Tecla sent Mata Velis to prison for the murder of her newborn son.
