Within the framework of the National Congress of the Communist Party, the president of the group, Lautaro Carmona addressed the crime of Venezuelan former lieutenant Ronald Ojeda and the new antecedents in the investigation where there is talk of a political motive organized by the regime of Nicolás Maduro, which has sympathy with the PC.
In this regard, Carmona assured that “from the first moment we said that this was a very serious fact, that it should be investigated to the end and that all conclusions should be drawn that would enhance the capabilities of the State in police, intelligence and security tasks.”
However, he criticized that “they assumed that this meant the defense of Venezuela. The truth is that it means the defense of rigor and the correct things in the policies of our country.“.
“We will not accept anti-communist provocations, We are going to vindicate our policy including its internationalist space, with full honor and with total conviction,” he added.
At the event, figures from the Government of President Gabriel Boric were present, such as Ministers Camila Vallejo, Maya Fernández, Javiera Toro, and Minister Nicolás Cataldo. With them present, he described it as “very serious” that there are “politicians in this country who associate communists in tasks that should be prohibited for them. I mean that it has been said that they cannot be in Interior tasks or in other Defense tasks (…) We are not going to accept and we are going to act as a party so that everyone, strictly speaking with their powers, fulfills their duties accordingly. obligations”.
“We must put what is important at the center, the need to confront organized crime and promote coordinated cooperation between the states of our region of Latin America, which is effective in defeating mafias that transcend borders and nationalities.
