Carbonated drinks contain two useless components – acidity regulator and sugar. Both of them are very harmful to the body. In addition, the bubbles in the drink cause micro shocks in the stomach.
Publika.az informs that these words were said by nutritionist Tatyana Meshcheryakova. According to him, one glass of carbonated drink contains five to six teaspoons of sugar, and one liter contains 20-25 spoons of sugar, respectively. That much sugar makes you thirsty and makes you want another glass of soda. In addition, such a shock dose of sugar damages the pancreas and requires the rapid release of insulin, which can lead to a violation of carbohydrate metabolism and insulin resistance.
The nutritionist warned that acidity regulators disrupt the body’s acid-base balance. To neutralize the harmful effects of acid, the body is forced to use all possible alkaline reserves. These alkaline minerals are obtained from bone and muscle tissue. As a result, demineralization of bone tissues leads to problems like “osteoporosis” even in children and young people. Foams are especially dangerous for people with stomach (gastritis, peptic ulcer), intestinal (colitis, enteritis, intestinal syndrome, etc.) diseases.
“These bubbles go directly to the stomach, stop functioning, create a microshock wave and eventually cause mechanical damage to the gastric mucosa. Even the delicate walls of a healthy human stomach cannot withstand such shocks,” said the nutritionist.
The doctor does not recommend drinking even mineral water without sugar. In general, according to Meshcheryakova, the best drink in the heat is plain water, homemade juices and fruit compotes with a minimum amount of sugar.
