ASSUMPTION. After the agreement that avoided the public transport strike, the Government and the Metropolitan Area Transport Entrepreneurs Center (Cetrapam) begin to work on the technical table established to reform the public transport system in the metropolitan area. The tripartite meeting held yesterday, Saturday, marked the beginning of a continuous dialogue that seeks to resolve pending points within a period of 90 days.
The Vice Ministry of Transportation, led by Emiliano R. Fernández, and the representatives of Cetrapam, along with other business sectors, committed to comprehensively addressing the problem of public transportation. The objective is to develop a Public Transport Policy that includes workers, businessmen and users in the development of a reform project.
During the first sessions of the technical table, it was agreed to carry out an exhaustive review of the technical coefficients according to state regulations. This analysis seeks to ensure that all decisions are based on preliminary studies and focus on the well-being of passengers. Fernández pointed out that the active participation of all interested parties is crucial to achieving sustainable and effective solutions.
The Government reiterated its willingness to keep rates updated and ensure the payment of subsidies, in addition to managing permits in accordance with current law. These efforts, according to Fernández, are essential for strict compliance with regulations and to avoid future conflicts.
