‘There is no substitute for research to advance the health sector’ – 2024-02-29 18:58:19

Chittagong Medical University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Khan said, there is no alternative to research to advance the health sector of the country. There should be a discussion about how the health sector of the future will be, how it should be. This requires quality research.

He said these things at the third international scientific conference on ‘Future Generation Research’ at the Chittagong International Medical College campus on Thursday afternoon.

Eleven researchers participated in this conference under the joint initiative of Chittagong International Medical College, Chittagong International Dental College and Chittagong International Nursing College.

Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Khan said, from today’s conference, many important information about future commitments of the health sector will come, which will make common people aware. Since its establishment, this institution has been making significant contributions to the medical education and service sector of the country through research and quality education. That’s why they got special honor from the health minister. The meeting of so many researchers from the country and abroad is a really commendable initiative.

Dr. Organizing Secretary of the conference. Abduch Chalam, Member of Parliament of Chittagong-8 Constituency, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony moderated by Meherunnicha Khanam. Muslim Uddin Sabuj, Dental College Governing Body Chairman Jalal Uddin Akbar, Medical College Chairman Professor Md. Nurunnabi, Professor Dr. Md. Amir Hossain, Principal of Chittagong Medical College Professor Dr. Shahena Akhtar, Professor Dr. Akram Parvez Chowdhury, Professor Dr. Ruby Dutta, Dr. Vidyut Barua, President of BMA Chittagong Professor Dr. Mujibul Haque Khan, line director of the Department of Health Professor Dr. Robed Amin, General Secretary of Chittagong Heart Foundation Professor Dr. Prabir Kumar Das, Professor Dr. Md. Akram Hossain, Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin Mahmud, Dr. Irene Sultana.

Member of Parliament Abduch Chalam said Chittagong International Medical College Hospital is playing a major role in Chittagong’s medical services. Their record 114 papers this year added a new dimension. I believe that these research papers will make an important contribution to the medical sector of the country in the future.

Earlier, the scientific session of the conference was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong Medical University. Md. Ismail Khan Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Md. Under the chairmanship of Tipu Sultan, one of the pioneers of medical research in Bangladesh, the former director general and medical scientist Professor Dr. MA Faiz.
