The water ballet on the Voorst ring road had become unbearable for traffic. But the province, as the road’s manager, has now been able to fully reopen the N345, a spokesperson confirmed Saturday. However, there is a lower speed limit.
This is due to the “saturation” of roadsides, explains Evelien Gunsing, spokesperson for the province. That’s why there is now a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour. Normally it is 80 kilometers per hour.
The province’s hope is that the speed limit could be raised again on Sunday, but the province doesn’t know for sure yet.
The road can be reopened completely, because the water itself has already subsided slightly. There was also some excavation, and that helped too.
