The United Kingdom will supply Ukraine with drones for more than 70 million dollars

The United Kingdom Ministry of Defense announced this Friday that it has signed three contracts to send air defense equipment to Ukraine for a total value of more than 90 million pounds sterling (about 115 million dollars).

The agreements include a £56 million (more than $71 million) contract for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with Norwegian company Kongsberg, while the remaining two will see Kiev supplied with more equipment. air defense.

According to the statement, this delivery includes multiple types of drones designed to fulfill various functions such as target location, electronic warfare, night operations, among others.

These contracts are part of procurement packages provided through the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), a mechanism to provide urgent military support to kyiv that includes the United Kingdom, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden , Iceland and Lithuania.

The announcement by the British Ministry of Defense comes after the Russian air defense shot down a drone that was trying to attack facilities in Moscow early this Friday.
