The UK will send British Royal Navy ships to build a new corridor to send aid to the besieged Gaza Strip. On Sunday (April 7), British Foreign Minister David Cameron confirmed the fact of sending aid to Gaza through this ship.

The British Foreign Minister said that a temporary sea port will be built on the coast of Gaza in a multinational effort. The effort will also include the United States, Cyprus and other partners. The new corridor will be opened in early May.

In a statement, Cameron said the situation in Gaza is dire and there is a strong possibility of famine. We are committed to delivering aid to the people of Gaza.

Cameron said, in the meantime, the United Kingdom has promised to pay 9 million 70 thousand euros for support equipment and other costs for the establishment of this maritime corridor from Cyprus to Gaza.

Quoting the British Foreign Ministry, the BBC report said, in this initiative, the safety of relief materials will be checked in Cyprus and sent directly to Gaza by sea. In this case, the new temporary port or Ashdod port built by the US on the Gaza coast will be used.

British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said a new temporary port built on the Gaza coast would house cargo ships for relief supplies. UK military teams have been working with planning teams from Cyprus as well as the US operational headquarters in Tampa, Florida for weeks to develop the safest and most effective sea route.

More than 100,000 people have been killed in the Israeli attack on Gaza in the last six months. It is known that at least 33 thousand 91 Palestinians were killed in the Israeli attack. 75 thousand 750 people were injured.

Meanwhile, in addition to attacking Gaza, Israel is blocking the delivery of aid there. As a result, 2.2 million Palestinians living in the besieged valley are facing a severe food crisis. People have started dying in the valley due to lack of food and water.
