The three big “bangs” of the summer from the NBA

There are many Europeans who play basketball on the other side of the Atlantic, some of whom have closed their circle in America and are casting thieving glances towards the Euroleague.

Let’s look at the three cases that stand out with players who are in their prime, as none of them are over 27 years old.

Theo Maledon

The 22-year-old French guard has also previously played in Europe with Villeurbanne for three years from 2017-20. He was one of the biggest talents in Europe with his dominant characteristic being the organization of the game and his very good passing ability.

In the NBA, he played with the Thunder and the Hornets without, however, being able to impress with his performance, as a result of which he plays mainly in the G-League. He is averaging an NBA-high 3.5 ppg in just five games this year, 4 with the Suns and one with the Hornets.

Frank Dilikina

The Belgian-born French guard with a European stint in Strasbourg has played a full four years in the NBA with the New York Knicks from 2017 to 2021. He has over 300 games in America and is currently playing for the Hornets without having special role.

Certainly if he finally chooses to return to Europe he will be a very reliable solution for the perimeter, as in addition to being a very good organizer and a good perimeter defender, he is also a fairly reliable shooter behind the 6.75 (in Europe), as he shoots at about 40%.

Furkan Korkmaz

The third player on the list is Furkan Korkmaz who in Europe has played in Efes from 2013 to 2017 and then played for seven years in the Sixers, where in the early years he had a very important role.

The Turkish guard/forward has been heard strongly since the summer that he will leave the NBA for the Euroleague, but this has not been done yet. If he wants to return, the first reason to sign him will be Efes, which also holds his rights in Europe.

He is also a case of 200+ games on the other side of the Atlantic and has a reputation as an excellent three-point shooter. He can score either off the dribble, or execute from behind the three-point line. Overall he is a very reliable scorer who would be useful in any team.
