Publika.az reports that the Costa Rican goalkeeper was accused of modern slavery by a person working in his house. An article containing the opinions of a former employee of the football player was published on the website of the French TV channel BFMTV.

Navas’ former employee complained to the prosecutor’s office. He worked for 20 months with the player who last played for PSG. According to the complainant, he did this without a contract, 90 hours a week and received €3,200 a month in cash without registering with the French social security system. He was offered a wet basement with no windows as a place to live. The complainant’s lawyer compared the working conditions to “modern slavery”.

This angered Navas. He said that he will sue the channel in question. “After the news published by the French media about the false, baseless and very serious accusations against me and my family, I have decided to entrust the matter to my lawyers to initiate all necessary legal actions,” the 37-year-old goalkeeper said on his social network account.

Note that Keylor Navas is currently a free agent. His contract with PSG expired at the end of last season.
