The Royal Spanish Rugby Federation (FERugby) and Generali have launched the fourth edition of the Get Into Rugby educational program, which aims to introduce non-contact rugby as a sport in different schools throughout Spain.

The goal of the initiative, which plans to reach 800 schools, is for children to “know first-hand the fundamental values of this sport.” such as respect, effort, integrity, commitment, solidarity or camaraderie. Registration is now open until April 30 at this link getintorugby.generali.es.

Once the registration period ends, training sessions will be given for school teachers and 100 kits will be raffled off with all the necessary equipment, including the tape so that boys and girls can practice rugby without contact.

Teachers who take the training will be able to receive a free official federative qualification recognized by FERugby that enables them to be able to teach the practice of this sport in the school environment. It has also sought to enhance inclusion with the incorporation of a module completely adapted to the specific needs of students with special educational needs so that teachers have the necessary resources to incorporate it into their educational program.

Created in 2019 by Generali in collaboration with FERugby, Get Into Rugby seeks to promote this sport and train not only future athletes, but also great people who contribute to a society full of values. To date, nearly 2,100 schools have already participated.

In addition to this program, The insurer has recently announced its expansion of its commitment to Spanish rugby, incorporating the Spanish women’s XV rugby team into its sponsorship.. In this way, both the men’s and women’s teams will display the insurer’s logo on their kit, as well as the M20 and M18 teams.

Generali’s Director of Communication and Sustainability, Javier Aguirre de Cárcer, explained that the values of rugby are “very aligned” with those of the insurer. «For us this program is very significant, since through sports and the teachers involved and committed to the education of the little ones we are making the boys and girls of today, better adults of tomorrow. And to transmit that passion for sport and the practice of physical exercise, the ideal is to start at an early age,” he noted.

For his part, the general secretary of the Royal Spanish Rugby Federation, Miguel Ángel Martín, welcomed the continuity of this project. «Generali has once again demonstrated his commitment to this sport with which he has so many things in common. Thanks to your support, we will be able to continue promoting this program among the youngest to be able to create the players of the future and give visibility to rugby,” he indicated.
