According to the news, Samsung has already started the One UI 6.0 update for Galaxy A72 mobile phones in Russia. Along with the interface, the main version of Android 14 is obviously also included, but the device will no longer receive major updates.
So for now Russian Samsung Galaxy A72 owners can enjoy the new software, but the update may soon be available in other regions too. This essentially marks the end of the smartphone’s career, as this is the last major system update it will receive.
The mobile began its journey of conquest in the medium category in the spring of 2021, with the Android 11 system on board at that time, that is, a total of three versions of the green robot arrived, which certainly deserve recognition within the segment.
The firmware number of the new software is A725FXXU6EWL4, and the data package necessary for its installation occupies only 2 GB and includes the December security patch. In reality, Samsung is not completely leaving the hands of Galaxy A72 owners, it will probably receive security updates for another year, so you can use the phone for mobile banking and the like without any hassles.
It may also be impossible for One UI 6.1 to arrive after the release of the Galaxy S24 devices, but we wouldn’t worry about it. If you’re impatient you can check in the Settings menu to see if the update has already arrived, otherwise you probably won’t have to wait much longer and you can install it yourself.
