Several symptoms can indicate diabetes. One of them is itching of the mucous membrane of the genital organs in women.

Publika.az endocrinologist Yelena Ostrovskaya told “Gazeta.ru” these words.

“It often happens: women consult a gynecologist because they are worried about the irritation of the mucous membranes, and during the examination it is found that the level of glucose in the blood is high.

In general, those at risk of developing diabetes can be divided into the following groups: representatives of the 45+ age group who lead a sedentary lifestyle; women diagnosed with gestational diabetes during pregnancy; people with diabetes in close relatives; obese citizens (more than 25 kg/m2)”, the doctor noted.

Ostrovskaya warned that chronic fatigue, constant thirst, frequent urination, bloating, and weight gain, even without changes in diet, could be signs of this disease. To prevent this, he recommended to lead a physically active lifestyle, eat right, get enough sleep and control the blood sugar level.
