The Registry Office guarantees the elections in Gamarra

A total of 11,248 citizens, 5,809 men and 5,439 women, are eligible to vote in the new mayoral election, next December 24 in the municipality of Gamarra, Cesar.

The election day will be repeated because on October 29, the blank vote obtained 3,474 votes, that is, 52.69% of the total valid votes.

The above, in accordance with the provisions of article 9 of Legislative Act 1 of 2009, which establishes: “The vote must be repeated only once to elect members of a Public Corporation, governor, mayor or the first round in the presidential elections. , when of the total valid votes, the blank votes constitute the majority.”

Next Sunday, December 24, this election will be held in accordance with Law 1475 of 2011, which states that “in the case of a new election or complementary election, the respective vote will be held forty (40) calendar days, after the Closing date for candidate registration. If the date of this vote does not correspond to Sunday, it will be held on the immediately following Sunday.”

The registration of new candidates for election day was carried out within ten (10) calendar days from the day following the declaration of the results by the corresponding counting authority, that is, from November 3 to 12, 2023.

The National Registry of Civil Status will install 9 voting stations, which will be made up of 27 tables. There will be 174 voting jurors (162 main and 12 remainder), who will serve during the democratic day.
