An event that attracted over fifteen thousand people. It was precisely the Prague half-marathon that recorded record participation this year. Unfortunately, the sporting experience also has its dark side. According to available information, the paramedics had to activate the trauma plan. The health problems of runners are to blame. Several collapses are also reported!

During the Prague half-marathon, due to the difficulty of the race, a greater number of runners have health problems, including collapses. The rescuers reported it on the X network. Dozens of people needed the care of the rescuers. In the Czech Republic today, the weather is unusually warm for April, runners complained about the heat, ČTK found out. Karel Kirs, the spokesman for the rescuers, did not have the exact number of people collapsing. ČTK is investigating further details.

“In connection with the holding of the half-marathon, an extraordinary event occurred during the event, during which a large number of people have health problems, while the difficulties are connected with the level of physical demands of the race. For this reason, a trauma plan was announced,” said paramedics.

According to the spokesman, the trauma plan is activated when a large number of people are affected, sometimes even as a precaution, when the numbers are not yet known and it is not clear how the situation will develop. “There are difficulties after physical exertion, including collapses,” said CTK.

In Prague today, temperatures exceed 20 degrees Celsius, runners complained about the unusual heat. “Extreme heat, from about the ninth kilometer I would prefer to give up,” said one of the runners on the social network. He added that he was not far from fainting at the finish line.

According to meteorologists, the temperatures in the next few days will most often be between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius. Exceeding the first tropical day of the year, which was historically measured first on April 17 in 1934 in Vlašim, where it was exactly 30 degrees, is not excluded, meteorologists said.
