He played in the Young Boys before he quit football and started robbing banks. Many called him the Swiss Robin Hood, and the police could not track him down for 36 years. But this year, he was found dead on a train track.
His name is almost forgotten in Swiss football. In the 1970s, Marco Muller was a player of “Young Boys” and the national youth team. He also wore the uniform of “SR Delemont” amateur team.
However, he is more famous in the history of the Swiss judicial system. At the age of 20, he gave up football and turned to crime. Muller robbed several banks and raided armored vans full of cash. In the 1980s, he became one of the most wanted men in Europe.
According to “The Sun”, the former football player stole 3.2 million dollars in total. Muller was tried twice. He managed to escape from Jura prison. Although the police arrested him in Bern, he managed to escape a second time.
Since 1988, the police could not find him. After 36 years, his body was found on the railway line near his hometown of Baskur.
