Mentally unbalanced Salim (40). He disappeared from home six months ago. Since then, the family members have not found Selim despite a lot of searching. However, family members found Selim’s photo at Milton Samader’s Child and Old Age Care Shelter.
On Tuesday (May 7), Selim’s mother Rabia, cousin village policeman Abdur Rashid went to the Child and Old Age Care and identified him. On Wednesday with the help of the police, Salim was rescued from there in a critical condition and brought home.
Mentally unstable Salim is the son of poor Hasim Uddin of Bripacashi village in Ishwarganj Barahit union of Mymensingh.
After bringing home from the shelter, Selim’s family found cut marks on different parts of his body on both sides of the waist. Relatives alleged that Salim was brutally tortured and his kidney removed at the shelter in Milton Samader.
When this news spread, the surrounding people gathered at Selim’s house. Salim gets scared when he sees someone wearing red clothes. Can’t even walk properly. Cut marks on both sides of the waist. Those spots have not dried yet.
Selim’s mother Rabia Khatun said, ‘My son was mentally ill, but there was no scar on his body. My son was systematically tortured and his kidneys were removed by slitting both sides of his waist. We want justice for this.’
Wife Fatema Begum told Jago News, ‘I have two daughters. I married the eldest daughter. The younger daughter is studying in class VII. Even though he is crazy, he is my husband. The way she is now, I think my daughters will be orphans. I will become a widow.’
Talked with Selim’s cousin Abdur Rashid. He told Jago News, ‘Salim’s condition is very bad. She has a cut below her belly button. Water has accumulated in his body. I am bringing him to a clinic in Charpara city of Mymensingh for treatment. From here I will be admitted to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital by showing a doctor.’
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwarganj Police Station Mohammad Majedur Rahman told Jago News that the police were sent to that house after receiving information. The family members have been asked to treat him and do some tests. After the test it will be understood what the incident is.
