On the evening of March 25, responding to PV VTC News, a representative of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control (A05, Ministry of Public Security) said that the unit is investigating and verifying the system’s operation. VNDirect was attacked.
Previously, VNDirect Securities Company announced that the system was attacked from 10:00 a.m. on March 24. By the morning of March 25, it had been fixed and in the process of reconnecting transactions. However, recovery is expected to take time.
This situation caused the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) to temporarily disconnect remote trading and online trading of VNDirect Securities Joint Stock Company. Trading suspension period is from March 25, 2024 until VNDirect completely fixes the problem.

Meanwhile, informing VTC News on the afternoon of March 25, a leader of VNDirect said that at around 10 a.m. this morning, VNDirect had controlled and gradually resolved the problem of being attacked by external objects.
“Currently the system is in the process of rerunning data. After that, it will be tested to ensure smooth and safe operations when it comes back into operation. In principle, at the end of the day, the system will save the original data to an independent server for finalization, so customers will not be affected in terms of stocks and cash. The only thing is, when the system is disconnected, it will affect transactions and VNDirect must re-control those transactions to ensure accurate data.” the leader said.
According to this person, this is an objective incident and VNDirect has actively coordinated with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control (A05) as well as the State Securities Commission to support the recovery. .
VNDirect’s media representative also confirmed that the unit is urgently fixing the problem: “All customer information and assets are guaranteed to be safe and not affected by attacks. The problem only affects current transactions. VNDirect is re-connecting as soon as possible to ensure customers’ rights.”
However, as of the evening of March 25, VNDirect’s system had not yet returned to operation.

Specifically, at 2:50 p.m. on March 25, when investors accessed the website of the Postal Insurance Corporation (PTI), they only received a notification confirming the system was attacked.
At the same time, the websites of companies such as IPA Securities Investment Management Company (IPAAM), IPA Investment Group (IPA), and Homefood Food Joint Stock Company were also inaccessible.
