The Minister of Agriculture crowns the winning varieties and breeds in livestock breeding competitions

On the sixth day of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Meknes, under the supervision of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mohamed Seddiqi, prizes were distributed to the professionals who won first prizes in livestock breeding competitions according to types and breeds.

Prizes were given to winners in the categories of dairy cows, broiler cows, local cows, camels, sheep and goats. Each category in turn includes other breeds, especially cows and calves. The winners were crowned after passing the competition, which was managed by a technical committee specializing in livestock breeding, under the supervision of the Ministry’s services, which are guardians of the sector.

In the category of dairy cows, the Montbeliard breed, the first prize was won by Khaled Al-Maatawi and Al-Hussein Al-Sahraoui from the Fkih Bensalah province, along with Badr Al-Halaoui from the Sidi Kacem province, and Hassan Al-Nami, representing the Sidi Bennur province. While the Holstein breed was won by Mohamed Kapil and Mohamed El Hajouji from the Souss-Massa region, along with Idris Nounh from the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region.

As for the type of carnivorous cows, the Belgian Blue and Belgian Blue hybrids, Anas Al-Mhanian Daoudi and Mustafa Al-Khouli won from the Casablanca-Settat region. While Al-Khouli returned to win the first prize for the Limousin, Piedmontese, Aquitan Blonde and Charolais breeds, while Youssef Bourkaa won the first prize in the camel category, representing the Guelmim-Oued Noun region.

In the category of local cows, the Walmas breed, Mohamed Jadoubi, Mahama Al-Ghanimi, Mohamed Gnawi and Ahmed Ashqir were crowned from the Khemisset region.

In the sheep category, the winners were the breeds of Timahdit, Daman, Sardi, Beni Kil, Black Sirwa and White Mountain, while six professionals won the first prize in the goat category, according to the Barsha, Black, Daraa, Ghazaliyya, Beni Arous and Red breeds.
