“One of the main causes of hair loss is genetic predisposition and hormonal influence. It can also occur against the background of stress, the presence of infections, taking certain medications, poor nutrition and a number of other factors.”

The doctor noted that every person faces one or another reason for hair loss. As long as it is not regular enough to cause visible baldness, it is natural.
“On average, about 90% of all cases are due to genetic predisposition and hormonal influences. Excessive androgens have a negative effect on hair follicles, thinning is more often observed in the frontal and parietal zones. Gradually, hair loss can spread to the entire surface of the head, body hair and it remains complete,” Dorosh said.
According to him, one of the causes of hair loss is stress:
“The effect of stress hormones causes spasm of small vessels and, as a result, disruption of blood supply. Lack of nutrition and oxygen slows down the hair follicles and the hair growth process. This is why the hair is not properly nourished, thins, breaks and falls out.”
At the same time, he pointed out that improper, poor nutrition, fasting, lack of vitamins and minerals can cause a similar effect.
According to him, other common causes of hair loss include: severe acute or chronic infections (especially with fever, metabolic and trophic processes), various scalp injuries (burns, cuts), taking certain drugs, degenerative processes, environmental factors.
“If you are experiencing hair loss, you should consult a trichologist for an examination. Today, doctors have in their arsenal various therapeutic and surgical methods that will preserve the remaining hairs and stimulate the growth of new ones,” Dorosh concluded.
