Othman Al-Tahir Issa, leader of the Misrata movement, justified his meeting with the head of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, at the College of Medical Technology in the city.

Othman Issa retracted his accusation of corruption against the Dabaiba government, after he was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary at the Consulate General in Jeddah, according to what sources told Libya Press.

The leader of the Misrata movement said, “I was invited by the Dean of the College of Medical Technology to the forum that was held inside the college and the exhibition.”

Issa added, “They said that Abdul Hamid would come and this was the queue to receive him. I was among those standing and Abdul Hamid greeted me with both hands, so I greeted him with both hands.”

Issa continued, “I was in the Al-Ghazala Paints Department, and as soon as the bear entered, I was about to leave, but I found him calling me and peace occurred between me and him.”

Issa continued his speech, saying: “I then stood to listen to how the young men explained to Abdul Hamid the paints they had, and they told me that they wanted to give him a shield and they wanted me to take pictures while I was handing him the shield.”

The leader of the Misrata movement said: “As soon as I heard this, I was about to go out, so as not to take these pictures, then I found Abdul Hamid saying: Don’t go out, we want to take pictures with you.”

Issa added that Abdul Hamid is a son of Misrata, and pictures were taken with him in his capacity as a son of Misrata, and we did not say we are against the government and we do not want to overthrow the government.

He continued: “We are with His Excellency President Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, if he is in the right direction.”
