The spokesman of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, referred to the recently published recording, in which, according to claims, the officers of the Bundeswehr are discussing the Taurus missile attacks on the Crimean bridge. According to Peskov, this indicates the involvement of Western countries in the conflict. “Izvestiya” periodical reports about this.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Russia hopes to get to know the results of the German authorities’ investigation on this topic.

“(German Chancellor Olaf) Scholz has said there will be a quick and effective inspection. We hope that in some way, I mean, even through the media, we will find out what this inspection led to,” said Peskov.

The press secretary of the Russian President added that it remains to be determined whether the Bundeswehr is doing this on its own initiative or whether it is the state policy of Germany. According to Peskov, “both are very bad”, and this once again emphasizes the involvement of the West in the Ukrainian conflict.

“The recording itself suggests that within the walls of the Bundeswehr, the plans to carry out attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation are being discussed substantively and concretely. This does not require any legal interpretation. Everything is more than obvious here,” Peskov emphasized.

On March 1, RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan published a recording, noting that it was the full transcript of a discussion between high-ranking German army officials about the Taurus missile strikes on the Crimean bridge. According to him, the conversation took place on February 19. According to the recording, during the conversation, the military discussed the issue of supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine. An audio recording of German air force officials said officers discussed how many of those missiles would be needed to attack the Crimean bridgehead and whether such a strike would be effective.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that the country is thoroughly investigating this “very serious leak” of information.

Later, the representative of the German Ministry of Defense confirmed that the secret meeting of the country’s military leadership was indeed intercepted. He added that it is not yet clear whether changes have been made in the recording circulating on social networks or not.
