The Indonesian U-20 National Team will appear in the 2024 Toulon Tournament, in a group with Italy and Japan

JAKARTA – PSSI confirmed that Indonesian U-20 National Team will perform at the Tournoi Maurice Revello or what is usually called the 2024 Toulon Tournament. This news was confirmed directly by Exco PSSI, Arya Sinulingga.

Previously, the official X Tournoi Maurice Revello account confirmed that Indonesia would take part in the event. The Red and White squad replaced the slot of the Egyptian National Team which canceled its appearance in the 50th edition.

Arya confirmed the news. He explained that the one playing in the 2024 Toulon Tournament would be the U-23 Indonesian National Team led by Indra Sjafri.

“Yes, it is true that we will take part in the tournament (Maurice Revello Tournament). “And what we are sending is the U-20 National Team, which is managed by Indra Sjafri,” said Arya in his statement, Friday (10/5/2024).

Furthermore, he revealed the chronology of the U-20 Indonesian National Team finally being able to compete in this event. In fact, Arya admitted that they had just registered, but the process was so fast that they were able to appear straight away.

“Even though we are actually new now, we have just registered. “Eh, directly by them, okay, that’s it,” explained Arya.

The 2024 Toulon tournament will take place in France from 3 to 16 June. There are 10 countries taking part and divided into two groups with five countries each.

Group A is occupied by Saudi Arabia, Ivory Coast, France, Mexico and South Korea. Meanwhile, the U-20 Indonesian national team is in Group B with Ukraine, Japan, Italy and Panama.

This event is also a warm-up event for the U-20 Indonesian National Team. Because on the next agenda, the Garuda Nusantara Squad will stage the 2024 AFF U-19 Cup which is planned to take place in Surabaya on 17-19 July 2024.
