The IGP calls for united action to deal with the crisis – 2024-02-21 11:10:23

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that the nation must work unitedly to face any crisis. He made this call in his chief guest speech at the police headquarters on Tuesday (February 20) at the rank badge wearing ceremony of the newly promoted additional IGPs. Additional IGPs who have been promoted as per police custom are given rank badges by IGPs and wives of promoted officers.

Bangladesh Police Women Welfare Association (PUNAK) president Dr. was a special guest at the event. Taiba Musarrat Janha Chowdhury. New Additional IGPs of Police and their wives were present on the occasion.

Paying deep respect to Bangabandhu, the IGP said in his speech that the police formed the first armed resistance against the Pakistani invading forces in response to Bangabandhu’s call. Under the leadership of the current Prime Minister, Bangladesh Police has been able to deal with militancy and terrorism. The police is capable of facing any challenge related to law and order in the future as well.

Congratulating the promoted officers, the IGP said, this promotion is recognition of your efficiency. At the same time, the promoted officers expressed their commitment to provide maximum service to the people by keeping the spirit of the liberation war.

It may be noted that the government has recently promoted 14 officers of Bangladesh Police to the post of Additional IGP.
