Colombians continue to feel proud of Mauro Castillo and his recent participation in the White House, in the United States, as one of the artists invited to participate in the commemoration of African American History Month, held last February 22.
An event brought together African American leaders and other influential figures in accordance with this year’s theme, “African Americans and the arts”, perfect for celebrating community achievements. Mauro Castillo, known for his infectious energy and musical versatility, was one of 60 participants who helped highlight the cultural importance of this iconic month.
There, with his music and his immense talent, the artist brought the chonta, the marimba and the salsa, to represent the Latin American flavor in such an important event.
In interview with KienyKe.com, the singer spoke about his experience playing at the White House. Furthermore, he recalled the hard beginnings of him conquering the ‘American dream’.
