Manama – The Emir of Kuwait, Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, discussed with the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, strengthening regional relations and developments.
This came during a hours-long visit by the Emir of Kuwait to the Bahraini capital, Manama, according to the official news agencies of the two countries.
According to the Bahraini agency, “The two sides held an official discussion session at Sakhir Palace in Manama, and reviewed the fraternal path of established historical relations and various aspects of close cooperation and coordination and ways to enhance and develop it.”
They also “discussed the latest developments in the region and all regional and international developments, and their repercussions on international peace and security,” according to the same Bahraini source.
According to the agency, the King of Bahrain awarded the Emir of Kuwait the Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa Medal of Excellence and the Bahraini Sword in appreciation of his efforts and role in consolidating bilateral relations.
For its part, the Kuwaiti agency reported that the discussions “witnessed a review of fraternal relations and various aspects of bilateral cooperation, the pursuit of more partnership, and the most prominent developments in the regional and international arenas.”
After the discussions, the Emir of Kuwait left Manama, according to what was reported by the Bahraini agency.
This is the third foreign visit conducted by the Emir of Kuwait since he assumed power last December, after Saudi Arabia on January 30, and Oman on February 6, to discuss strengthening relations.
