The electric “Mashaer Train” transports 350,000 pilgrims per hour

The Holy Sites Train contributes to the provision of more than 50,000 vehicles during the Hajj season and helps reduce traffic congestion at peak times, as about 350,000 pilgrims are transported per hour in the Holy Sites.
The train operates 24 hours a day, and the journey time from Arafat to Mina takes about 20 minutes. It contains 17 trains in 9 cars, and has been prepared to handle high pressures. It is an electric train with low carbon emissions.
Today, the Holy Sites Train launched its first trip to serve the guests of God in their transportation between the Holy Sites through 9 stations, after ensuring that heavy maintenance operations were carried out, and the development of all systems used in the trains and stations, signaling and communications systems, and operation and control center systems.
Note that the Saudi Railways “SAR” announced its contract with more than 7,500 seasonal employees who are fluent in speaking several different languages ​​to serve the guests of God, including (English – Turkish – Indonesian – Nigerian and others).
It is noteworthy that the Holy Sites Train entered service in 2010, then its operation was transferred to “SAR” following the Council of Ministers’ decision to assign the process of providing service, maintenance and operation of the Holy Sites Train to the Saudi Railways (SAR).
