This Friday, February 9, 2024, those responsible for the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) welcomed to their facilities, Amadou DIONGUE, Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Benin.

This visit, according to GDIZ leaders, strengthens intra-African trade and highlights the importance of regional economic integration and the role of the Zone as a key player in this process.

As a reminder, the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) today has more than 10,000 jobs created and 12 units already operational. The GDIZ is on the one hand the prowess of raw cotton to finished clothing “Made In Benin”, and on the other hand, from raw cashew to processed cashew, packaged and ready for consumption and export.

And indeed, the ECOWAS Resident Representative in Benin was impressed by the textile units and agro-industrial processing facilities of the GDIZ, where more than 1,000 young people contribute to the creation of “Made in Benin” clothing.
At the end of his visit, Amadou DIONGUE declared: “ After this visit, I understood the extent of the transformation in Benin. Seeing a country evolve towards a production economy thanks to the vision of its government is remarkable. This development model is the way forward for Africa.

For those responsible for the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone, “this recognition by a high representative of ECOWAS highlights the GDIZ not only as an engine of growth for Benin, but also as an example of success for the continent.”
