Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen said that the demand to increase the allowance of post graduate trainees and intern doctors is reasonable. This problem will be solved as soon as possible.
He said this while talking to the media on Wednesday (March 27) evening. The minister said, this is a very logical demand. So their allowance should be increased.
The intern and post graduate trainee doctors have been agitating for a long time for four demands including increase in allowance. Addressing the issue, the Health Minister invited intern and post graduate trainee doctors to the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on Thursday (March 27). He will talk to the agitating doctors in the presence of officials of the concerned government departments.
The health minister said, after hearing the problem from the doctors, we are trying our best to solve it. Would like to resolve this as soon as possible.
Dr. Samant Lal said, I am working to solve this problem. The Prime Minister’s approval is required. That’s why I will talk to the Prime Minister about this.
Stating that he has learned about the demand within a short time of taking charge, the minister said, “I came only for two months.” I came to know about the crisis. I didn’t know before. I got the opportunity to work on it for only three days. Meanwhile I prepared it. I will talk to him (Prime Minister) about this on Thursday. Time should be given for this.
However, the health minister expressed his inability to tell the specific time of sitting with the prime minister.
