The editor-in-chief and the reporter who demanded money from citizens were arrested.

It was reported that Ramin Gurbanov, the editor-in-chief of the “Realmedia.az” website, Khayyam Gurbanli, who presented himself as a reporter of one of the newspapers, were detained based on numerous complaints received from citizens at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On the basis of the fact, according to the Article of the Criminal Code on extortion by threat, a criminal case was filed against both persons at the police station and they were arrested. At the moment, investigative actions on the criminal case are being continued.
“If there are other persons affected by the actions of these persons, they can contact the police,” the MIA emphasized.
It should be noted that they are accused of threatening to share negative information about individuals and companies, as well as demanding different amounts of illegal money in order to delete the shared information.
