“Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who severed relations with Moscow, now entrusts his country to the protection of the United States. On July 15, the Armenian Ministry of Defense announced the start of the joint Armenian-American exercise “Eagle partnership-2024” at the Military Academy named after Vazgen Sargsyan. At the opening ceremony of the exercise, Armenia’s defense Minister Suren Papikyan and US Ambassador to Yerevan Christina Quinn participated.
In his speech, Papikyan mentioned that the Kansas National Guard in America has been supporting them for more than 20 years. He also said that they met with US soldiers in Europe and Africa in the same exercise. In the exercise, which will last until July 24, the US soldiers will conduct a series of exercises to the Armenian troops,” the publication wrote.
It was stated that this is an important opportunity for the US army to provide military training to Armenians and to equip them: “The US “Eagle Partnership”, which donated to Athens thousands of armored vehicles, helicopters and tanks brought to Greece under the name of “training” in the past years, gave Armenian soldiers a modern thermal distributed image systems”.
The publication noted that the Ministry of Defense of Armenia is also building many new military facilities with US and European resources. New police stations were built in Yerevan at the expense of 16 million dollars allocated by the American Embassy. New police cars and patrol engines are also provided by the American administration.
