JAKARTA – Thai economy projected to grow at an average of 3.4% per year in 2024-2026. The figure is up from 2.5% in 2023 and is close to the country’s long-term potential.
Thailand’s Ministry of Trade revealed that thanks to the recovery of the electronics industry and increasing agricultural shipments, Thailand’s exports increased for six consecutive months in January 2024. Exports jumped 10% last month from a year earlier to USD22.64 billion.
In the midst of this positive economic growth, the Thailand Industrial Business Matching event, which is being held jointly by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and the Thai Trade Center (TTC) Jakarta in Jakarta, is important on May 2.
At this event, Thailand’s trade and investment potential in the electronics, construction and household equipment industries, including air conditioning, refrigeration machines and automotive, will be specifically explored in the Indonesian market.
Thailand Industrial Business Matching will facilitate direct meetings between Thai and Indonesian entrepreneurs to explore business potential and opportunities. This event was attended by around 20 Thai entrepreneurs from various sectors, especially the electronics and household equipment industries, including air conditioning, refrigeration machines and automotive.
Meanwhile, from Indonesia, this event is supported by entrepreneurs from related industries, such as the Indonesian Automotive Components Small and Medium Industries Association (PIKKO), the Indonesian Association of Electronic and Household Electrical Equipment Industry Companies (GABEL), and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Indonesia, an organization of Indonesian entrepreneurs operating in the economic sector.
“Thailand’s industrial landscape offers various opportunities for expansion and cooperation. Thailand seeks to explore synergies with business partners in Indonesia to increase market penetration and take advantage of existing business opportunities,” said Thai Trade Center Director Hataichanok Sivara, Wednesday (24/4/2024).
Mrs. Hataichanok added that this event also serves as a platform to strengthen strategic alliances, facilitate dialogue between industry leaders, and explore deeper cooperation on market dynamics.
“Relevant parties from Thailand and Indonesia will gather to explore cooperation opportunities,” he said.
