Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Advisor Member of Parliament Salman F. Rahman held a bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Energy Minister Engineer Mohammad Al Ibrahim.

The meeting was held in the office of the Assistant Energy Minister of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (April 30) night. During this time they discussed various issues of partnership between the two countries.

The Saudi assistant minister said that the feasibility study of the urea fertilizer factory has been completed in a joint venture between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. They are now working on the technical issues and will meet with the Bangladesh technical team.

In the meeting, the Saudi Assistant Energy Minister informed Bangladesh of their interest in energy cooperation and said that the proposal offered by Bangladesh to purchase crude oil on a deferred payment basis is under active consideration by the Saudi government. They also discussed the JV DAP fertilizer plant in the meeting.

On the same day, Advisor Salman F. Rahman also met with the Chief of Staff of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Secretary General of the Board of Directors Saad Al Korad in his office.

At this time, PIF Secretary General welcomed the advisor to his office and praised the economic development of Bangladesh. The Secretary General expressed satisfaction with the investment of Saudi company Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) in Patenga port.

Apart from this, they shared the list of 80 Saudi companies interested in investing in various sectors in Bangladesh and expressed interest that PIF would join the development journey of Bangladesh through their companies.

After attending the special meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Salman F. Rahman met in these bilateral meetings.
