Lowest KV wages and salaries increase by up to 13 percent

Vienna (OTS) On February 22, 2024, after intensive negotiations in the 6th round of negotiations, the representatives of the GPA union and the representatives of the trade association for the industrial production of paper and cardboard products (PROPAK) agreed on new wages and salaries for the approximately 9,000 employees in the industry.

The conclusion in detail:

  • Increase in KV wages and salaries by 7.5% to 13.0%
    New minimum basic salary or minimum monthly wage € 2,300.-
  • Increase in actual wages and salaries by 7.5%
  • Increase in apprentice income by 8.5%
  • Increase in allowances by 7.5%
  • Increase in travel expense allowances by 7.5%
  • Tax-free one-off payment € 200.-

Valid date March 1, 2024
The duration of the wage and salary tables is 12 months

GPA negotiator, economic sector secretary Christian Schuster concludes:

“On the one hand, this deal has taken into account the difficult economic situation in the industry. On the other hand, the new minimum monthly wage or minimum basic salary allowed the lowest incomes to be increased by up to 13 percent. This is a very important step given the high cost of living.”
