Subject fakes his death to escape child support

A man was arrested on Monday night by the Civil Guard after numerous witnesses reported that an individual naked from the waist up and bloody had thrown himself at their vehicles and thrown a head at them in the town of Soto de Ribera, in the Spanish region of Asturias.

According to the local media La Nueva España, the 46-year-old suspect had beheaded his father, a septuagenarian with whom he lived a few meters from the roundabout where the events occurred. He was elated and with very altered mental faculties when he was arrested.

Witnesses recount macabre scenes with the man playing soccer with his father’s head and lunging at vehicles with an ax, the murder weapon, in one of his hands, while he couldn’t stop laughing.

At the moment it is not known what could have triggered the tragic event. The father’s decapitated body was left in the house, while the son was initially transferred to a Civil Guard barracks. Then, due to his mental state, he was taken to the psychiatric area of ​​the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), where he was admitted.

La Nueva España collected testimonies from some of the drivers who crossed paths with the detainee that give an idea of ​​the chaos experienced last night. Everyone agrees that the man was completely out of his mind, bathed in blood from waist to head.

“There is a head in the road of an elderly countryman, just as I tell you, and a shirtless and bloody man has jumped on top of my car,” said one of the witnesses. «He stood in front of me and threw my head. He came with his head in his hand and also laughing. When I passed by, I turned around and saw him playing ball with his head,” said another person.

«He was singing the [himno franquista] ‘Face to the Sun’ loudly”; “A person killed another and walks around the roundabout naked kicking a head,” said other witnesses.

Following the warnings, numerous Civil Guard agents traveled to the area, as well as various health personnel. The individual was thrown on top of one of the agents’ vehicles, in plain clothes, up to three times.

At the moment no other victims have been reported nor have any more suspects been reported. The case is being investigated by the Scientific Police of the Civil Guard.
