RTR publishes RTR Post Monitor with market figures for the third quarter of 2023
Vienna (OTS) – In the third quarter of 2023, a total of 85.6 million parcels were delivered in Austria, which is 11.5 million or almost 16 percent more than in the comparable quarter of the previous year. Based on the number of days per quarter, the delivery staff in Austria transported around 950,000 items a day in the third quarter. “If we assume a standard weight of one kilogram per package, that would be a total of 950 tons transported by the delivery companies in Austria every day,” explains Dr. Klaus M. Steinmaurer, RTR managing director for telecommunications and post, figures from the just published RTR Post Monitor. A total of 6.4 million parcels were transported from Austria to the European Economic Area (EEA) in the third quarter. 0.6 million parcels went to destinations outside the EEA.
Fewer and fewer letters
The number of letters delivered domestically in the third quarter was 116.7 million, almost 12 percent less than in the same quarter of the previous year. 6.7 million letters were sent abroad.
