Adult film star Stormy Daniels testified Tuesday that his life was plunged into “chaos” after his silence agreement with Donald Trump became public about their alleged sexual encounter, saying she was ostracized and harassed at home.

“My husband asks questions, my friends ask questions,” Daniels testified on day 13 of the first criminal trial of a former U.S. president. “I was ruined by the cover-up, for lack of a better way to explain it.”
She told the New York jury about the alleged 2006 sexual encounter with Trump and the $130,000 hush payment she got when he ran for president in 2016. Daniels said she was worried he wouldn’t pay her if he won the November 2016 election.. Jurors saw documents showing she canceled the agreement in mid-October but later revived it.
He said he fulfilled the agreement by telling the Wall Street Journal in 2018 that she had not had sexual relations with Trump. However, the Journal published the story.
Daniels, 45, said she was determined to keep the incident private after being threatened in a parking lot in 2011, but changed her mind during Trump’s 2016 presidential run, when he faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
“My motivation was not money, but to get the story public,” he said.
Trump, 77, who is again the Republican presidential candidate this year, appeared upset throughout as he watched her testimony from the witness stand. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of falsifying business records to cover up paying hush money to Daniels and denies having sexual relations with Daniels.

His legal team has suggested that Daniels made up the story while looking for a spot on ‘The Apprentice’, the popular reality television show then hosted by Trump, who presented himself as a New York real estate magnate. Daniels confirmed that she hoped he would put her on the show after her meeting.
After a lunch break, Trump’s lawyer, Todd Blanche, requested a mistrial, arguing that his testimony was irrelevant to a case over business records and would only “inflame” the jury. Magistrate Juan Merchán denied his request.

Dressed in a black suit and black glasses, Daniels began her testimony by saying that she worked in strip clubs and in pornography. after a childhood in which his single mother was often gone for days at a time. He said Trump made sexual advances after inviting her to his hotel suite at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Snowfall. She said he told her “this is the only way to get out of the trailer park.”
He stated that he only confided his encounter to a few people.. Prior to the meeting, he placed him precisely for knowing how to play golf and being the man behind the program ‘The Apprentice’. He claimed that he saw Trump at public events on several occasions in the following years, but then lost contact with him after he did not include her in his reality show, after he offered it to her.
“Trump said he wanted to have dinner with me,” Daniels said.who recounted how she arrived at the hotel suite, “three times bigger than my apartment,” where the magnate was waiting for her in one of the rooms with flowers and in satin pajamas that she later changed into a shirt and street pants.
“I knew he was older, probably older than my father,” Daniels said a few meters from the magnate. He added that he asked Trump about his wife Melania, whom he had recently married. The tycoon told him not to worry because the two “didn’t even sleep in the same room.”
He asked Trump over dinner: “Are you always this rude? Are you always this arrogant and pompous?” Like you don’t even know how to have a conversation.” Trump challenged her by whipping a magazine and she obeyed.
“He was much more polite after that,” she said.
Daniels said he went to the bathroom and when he returned to the room, Trump “was in bed” in boxers and a T-shirt and gave details of what the sexual relationship with Trump was like.
“I was surprised […] I didn’t expect anyone to be there, especially without much clothing. […] The intention was quite clear,” she said, before adding that she asked herself how she had “put herself in this compromising situation.” “I was not threatened verbally or physically” although there was an “imbalance of power.”
He added that they had sex in bed, “in the missionary position,” and that Trump did not use a condom.. She claimed that the former president has a phobia of germs and viruses, telling him that she often took tests. The details made Judge Merchán angry for straying from the topic.
“I felt ashamed for not stopping it, for not saying no,” confessed Daniels, who assured that he spoke about it to “very few people.”
He later said he “blacked out” despite not using drugs or alcohol. after Trump prevented him from leaving the room by blocking the door. She said he woke up in bed with no clothes on.
“I was looking at the ceiling and I didn’t know how I got there, I was trying to think about something other than what was happening there,” Daniels testified.
He later said a man approached him in a Las Vegas parking lot in 2011 and warned him not to talk about the encounter. “I was afraid and I didn’t want anything more to come out about the story,” said. He said he changed his mind during Trump’s 2016 candidacy and eventually negotiated a $130,000 settlement with Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen.
Prosecutors say Trump falsified business records to hide the fact that he reimbursed Cohen for the payment. They say that amounts to an illegal scheme to influence the 2016 election by buying the silence of people with potentially damaging information.
Trump lawyers objected to ‘every statement’ by Daniels
The case is widely considered less consequential than three other criminal trials Trump faces, but it is the only one certain to go to trial before the election. The other cases accuse Trump of trying to reverse his 2020 presidential loss. and of misappropriating classified documents after leaving office. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all three.
Daniels’ testimony was one of the most anticipated moments of this trial which has entered its third week and which has shed light behind the scenes of its 2016 campaign when past sexual scandals haunted him.
“That’s nonsense,” Trump appeared to say as he watched from the defendant’s table.
Trump’s lawyers raised dozens of objections as Daniels gave her testimony. His lawyers even asked that the trial be annulled, but Judge Merchán refused to process the request.
Merchán has prohibited the Republican from talking about the witnesses on his social networks, as well as the jury and court staff and their families. After imposing fines of 10 mik dollars on him, he has threatened him with jail if he continues to disobey his orders.
If found guilty by the popular jury that will seal his fate, the Republican could even be sentenced to prison, although this will not prevent him from assuming the presidency if he wins in November against his current rival, President Joe Biden, whom he blames for being sitting in a Manhattan courtroom instead of campaigning.
