Claude Monet Garden as a particular highlight

The magical one Claude Monet Garden Since its design between 1999 and 2002, the Kagran school garden has taken visitors into the fascinating world of the great impressionist. Inspired by Monet’s famous garden in Giverny, France, the garden is more than just an imitation. Rather, it serves as an independent educational garden that deals in particular with the topic of shade-tolerant plants. Originally created in the 1960s, the garden resembled Giverny’s water garden even before its redesign. The picturesque “Japanese Bridge”, lined with a weeping willow and a copper beech, is one of the striking elements and is a well-known motif in impressionist painting. Between April and September, a fascinating play of colors of bamboo, water lilies, irises, poppies, wisteria and roses unfolds around the water lily pond, reminiscent of the beauty of Giverny. The Claude Monet Garden in the Kagran school garden is a true treasure that harmoniously combines art and nature and takes visitors into a world full of colors and inspiration.

Spring flowers await you!

Around 6,500 tulip bulbs and 3,900 daffodil bulbs in a wide range of colors were laid out on the display areas in the Kagran school garden in autumn 2023. These are now in full bloom. In addition, primroses, pansies, potted daffodils and other signs of spring decorate the flower bowls. Numerous bushes that are already flowering, such as hazel, ornamental quince and winter honeysuckle, as well as perennials such as snow rose, not only serve as the bees’ first source of food, but also delight visitors after the monotonous gray of winter.
