DEAD SEA – Iran’s Emad missile is suspected to be one of the ammunition used when Tehran carried out a large-scale attack on Israel some time ago.

This was caused by the discovery of medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) booster debris in the Dead Sea. The debris is thought to be an Iranian Emad missile launched when it attacked Israel.

Israel said the missile was successfully shot down by their air defense system. Zionist media predicted that the missile was targeted to attack Nevatim.

Nevatim is an Israeli Air Force base located in southern Israel, close to the city of Beersheba. Nevatim is known as the base for several squadrons of fighter planes and helicopters

Iran’s Emad Missile Specifications

Iran’s Emad missile is a liquid-fueled medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM). This Shahab-3 derivative missile is capable of carrying a payload weighing 750 kg at a distance of 1700 km with an accuracy of 10 m.

This missile features a new nose cone design which is quite different from its predecessor, the Shahab-3.

This design change allows the warhead to explode well above the target, which makes it more suitable for chemical, biological or nuclear weapons detonations, as well as for nuclear electromagnetic pulse attacks.

In terms of dimensional specifications, the Emad missile has a diameter of 1.25 meters with 1 warhead. The missile was presented by Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan on 11 October 2015.

The missile has an advanced guidance and control system in its nose cone, and is claimed to have an accuracy of up to 50 meters.

This weapon is also equipped with a launch vehicle that is more sophisticated than its predecessor ballistic missile. This missile vehicle is a type of maneuverable vehicle (MARV).
