Sol y Lluvia will have an exhibition at the Mapocho Station

The free sample will feature unpublished material and audiovisual elements that will cover the history of the band, a few days before the “45 years – Celebration Carnival” concert.

Santiago. 04/2024. As part of the activities to commemorate their 45 years, Sol y Lluvia will offer the public an exhibition where they will give an account of their legacy as one of the most important bands in Chilean music.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on April 10 at 12:00 p.m. in the Central Hall of the Mapocho Station, with the presence of its leader and vocalist Amaro Labra, the former members and founders, Charles Labra and Jonny Labra, and the current members of the group.

The Sol y Lluvia exhibition can be visited by the public from Wednesday the 10th (from 12:00 p.m.) until Saturday, April 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and admission is free.

In this chronology of the group, whose curatorship was in charge of Sayen Labra -granddaughter of Amaro Labra-, the importance of its political and popular discourse in music and the fundamental role it played in the soundtrack of the resistance to the dictatorship.

The exhibition includes a summary of its history through photographs, audiovisual records, memories and the graphic work that was produced in the Sierra Bella workshop, the Labra brothers’ workplace and where they began to make music in their free time.

Likewise, a first-person audiovisual experience will be offered, with songs from the official Sol y Lluvia songbook and the possibility that attendees can perform some of the band’s hits on guitar.

Other initiatives that are part of the celebration of the 45 years of Sol y Lluvia are the launch a month ago of the band’s first official songbook – which includes 24 compositions with lyrics and guitar chords – and the great concert ’45 years – Celebration Carnival’, which will take place next Saturday, April 20 from 6:00 p.m. at Mapocho Station.
