Signs of a heart attack that we do not know – 2024-03-01 10:02:09

A heart attack is characterized by severe pain in the chest and a feeling of lack of air, but sometimes the disease can manifest itself differently or manifest itself as another disease.

Publika.az reports that this was said by Yekaterina Demyanovskaya, a Russian doctor, neurologist, candidate of medical sciences.

“46.3% of the causes of death among adults are circulatory system diseases. 6.5% of it is acute myocardial infarction. At this time, the heart muscle no longer receives blood and partially dies,” he said.

Usually, a heart attack is accompanied by obvious symptoms: pressing pain or burning behind the sternum and in the heart region, cold sweat, anxiety and lack of air. Sometimes the pain in the back of the chest spreads to the left arm, shoulder, back, or neck. However, atypical symptoms also occur.

“For example, a very strong abdominal pain begins or the lower jaw aches as if during a toothache. Or shortness of breath may occur without other symptoms,” the expert added.

Also, myocardial infarction can manifest itself as other diseases. For example, the abdominal form is manifested by symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. It can be mistaken for acute poisoning, exacerbation of cholecystitis or peptic ulcer disease. A heart attack can even manifest itself with the symptoms of a stroke: in this case, a person’s speech becomes unintelligible, there are problems with coordination of movements, but there is no pain in the heart region.

According to the expert, the most dangerous course of a heart attack is the one with little or no symptoms. This is common in people with diabetes or coronary heart disease. Its only symptom is palpitations or a feeling of heart failure. In such cases, a person is unaware of the disease for a long time, which later leads to serious consequences.
