China’s exports increased significantly during the months of January and February, exceeding expectations.

Chinese customs data showed that China’s exports during January and February were 7.1 percent higher than the previous year, and exceeded the growth expected by experts at 1.9 percent, and imports rose 3.5 percent compared to expectations of a 1.5 percent rise.

According to the data, the trade balance surplus grew to $125.16 billion after reaching $75.3 billion in December, exceeding expectations of $103.7 billion.

Huang Zichun, an economic analyst at Capital Economics, said: After excluding seasonal changes and price changes, estimates indicate that Chinese exports have grown significantly over the past two months.

China has set an ambitious economic growth target of about 5% for the year 2024, a target that economists say will require more political support as challenges escalate.

The second largest economy in the world has faced, and continues to face, a number of pressures since the start of the Corona epidemic, and successive crises have emerged, such as the crisis witnessed by the real estate sector in China, which is considered the main engine of the country’s economy.
