A wide range of the latest technological innovations were presented at the ZGC Forum 2024 in Beijing.
The event took place from April 25 to 29 and included 128 activities, including forums and conferences, technology exchanges, technology achievement publications and technology competitions.
More than 120 world-leading scientists and academicians from home and abroad delivered speeches at the plenary session of the 2024 ZGC Forum Annual Conference and 60 parallel forums to share their insights on cutting-edge technologies and related industries.
More than 30 percent of speakers come from abroad, including over 10 Nobel Prize, Fields Medal and Turing Prize winners.
The participants also included representatives from 218 foreign government agencies and international organizations as well as 162 domestic and foreign universities and participants from across the country.
Business in particular showed great interest in participating: executives from 225 venture capitalists, more than 100 unicorn companies and over 10,000 technology companies took part.
The 2024 Zhongguancun International Advanced Technology Competition received 1,280 projects from 74 overseas countries and regions, accounting for more than 40 percent of the total number of entries.
During the Zhongguancun 2024 International Technology Fair, technology matchmaking sessions were scheduled for cooperation with several countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, South Korea and Japan.
A total of 309 cooperation projects with a total value of 67.32 billion yuan ($9.30 billion) were signed at this year’s ZGC Forum.
The ZGC Forum covered a variety of sectors. In the field of artificial intelligence, various dialogues were held on current topics such as innovative model architectures, AI ethics and safety, and embodied intelligence to promote visionary research and evaluation.
Significant technological breakthroughs have been announced in the field of life sciences, focusing on areas such as brain-machine interfaces and synthetic bioproduction.
In the field of space exploration, in-depth discussions were held on the extreme cosmos, ripples in space-time and other areas, and the latest technological achievements such as the Zhuque-2 launch vehicle were presented.
In addition, a number of high-level research reports were published that are “of great importance for understanding global trends in science and technology.”
