Parliament is considered one of the most secure places in any country. Dozens of security personnel are deployed round the clock to ensure flawless security of ministers and MPs. But 20 pairs of shoes were stolen from the parliament square wrapped in security blankets! And because of that MPs had to walk home barefoot!

Recently such incident happened in Pakistan. And because of that, a storm of controversy has been created in the South Asian country.

The question is raised, how did the shoe thief enter the Parliament square with tight security? The security system there has also been questioned in this incident.

According to the news of Pakistani media The Express Tribune, last Friday (April 19) this shoe was stolen from a mosque in Pakistan’s Parliament Square.

Members of parliament, journalists and government officials entered the mosque to offer Friday prayers that afternoon. But everyone’s eyes widened as soon as they came out after the prayer. Because, at least 20 pairs of shoes are missing from the parliament square mosque surrounded by tight security!

They couldn’t understand what happened. After a lot of searching, not finding their own shoes, everyone got busy looking for alternatives. In the end, many have to return home barefoot.

Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed his anger after learning about this incident. He ordered a thorough investigation into the security system lapses in the Parliament premises.

Inside sources said security personnel on duty were conspicuously absent during the shoe theft, complicating the situation.

In view of the Speaker’s directive, Joint Secretary Admin and Sergeant at Arms have been tasked with conducting the investigation into the incident. Attempts are being made to identify the culprits by looking at the CCTV footage.
